A Cute Baby

Wow!!!  Thank you all SO much for the amazing comments re: my magazine feature!!  You all know how to make a girl happy!  60 comments?  THANK YOU!!!!

So, I did a photoshoot a while back, and JUST finished editing the photos.  I took way too long editing these due to my extremely busy schedule, so I know the mama will be very glad they're done. :)  I think they turned out pretty great, actually!  It always helps to have a super cutie subject too. :)

I couldn't choose between color or black and white...
I like them both for different reasons.
We'll see which one his mom picks.

What a little cutie!!  This last picture is my favorite.  :)
Which one is yours?

Frankie

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!  My feature is out!  I was asked about 6 weeks ago if I would be willing to be featured in an Australian fashion magazine called Frankie.  My answer?  LOL!  Definitely, of course, YES YES YES!  I was thrilled that the editor found me and wanted to feature me.  What a dream.  Dream come true.  haha.  So.  I have a Twitter friend that lives in Australia, and since Frankie is only available there, I can't get it here.  So my lovely Aussie mate bought me a few of the magazines and is sending them to me!  WOO HOO!  She even went the extra mile and took pictures of my feature so I could see it now instead of having to wait.  She is the nicest person evah!  :)  So... here is my feature...

Squeeeeeeeeeel!!!!  This is completely surreal.  Thank you Frankie for making my YEAR!

:: Sponsor Giveaway :: The Rusted Chain

I am so happy about this giveaway!  Beki.  She is such an amazing person.  We have become very good friends through Twitter, and she and I talk on the phone at least 1 time a week.  I chat with her for at least an hour per conversation, but she's the type I could talk to all day and never run out of things to say.  Ever.  Love that about our friendship.  :)

Another thing about Beki?  Have you SEEN the jewelry she makes?!  Pure awesome!  I have a couple of her necklaces, and I love 'em.  Beki spends a lot of time making sure her products are tip top and they are, I can assure you.  Tested and approved over here, peeps.  ;)  Every necklace is awesome and you'll have a very hard time choosing for sure!!!

Beki recently made me the necklace below, and I am so glad I had her do it for me!!  I love it!  SO me.  :)

I am jonesing for the necklace below!!  She just got a new and EXCLUSIVE camera stamp!  Totally totally perfect!

So.  Guess what?  Beki is offering 1 lucky Sheyb reader a "You Design Your Own" necklace!  A*mazing!

Here is how to enter:

1. Go to Beki's store, The Rusted Chain.  Come back here leave a comment telling me your favorite(s) in her store.
2.  Go get to know Beki on her blog.  You won't be sorry you did!  Promise, and you can thank me later.
3.  Follow Beki on Twitter.  And Tweet about this giveaway.  Make sure you @therustedchain and @sheyb when doing so.
4.  Now this one is for me, cuz I need help.  So why not throw in an extra entry point?  :)  I am speaking on Saturday (yes!  THIS SATURDAY!  AHHH!) at a conference.  I am speaking about social media and business.  Basically how social media is used, how it works with owning a business, what do use, etc.  So.  Please leave me a comment with a question re: this topic.  Why?  It's just to help me write my speech.  I want to make sure I cover what people want to know.  I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Good Luck!

P.S.  Thank you all so much for the incredibly sweet comments left on the post below.  I love you all! xo

Cherish

It's almost 2am.  I am completely exhausted, but I can't seem to turn off my mind.  I don't know really what I came to my blog for... I can't really seem to form real coherent thoughts.  But I wanted to write none the less.  I'm sitting in my bed with the fan on way too high which is making my eyes burn.  Which is making me more tired.  Does that ever happen to you?  I suppose I could turn the fan off, but that would require me to move.  And I don't feel like it.

Moving on.  haha.  My husband is working very late tonight.  He is currently still at the office working on some real important project.  I miss him so.  He has been working late *a lot* lately.  It's been really hard for me.  I am not clingy by any means, but it's still nice to have him home... sitting by me in the living room, or hearing him breathe as he lays next to me in bed {now.  get your mind out of the gutter. ;) }  Or listening to him with our girls - their squeals of delight as he plays whatever they want him to.  They have even painted his toe nails before.  What a good dad.
When dad isn't home, our family isn't whole.  He is the piece to our unfinished puzzle, and we are dying to complete this puzzle.  But, sometimes life gets crazy and we get busy.  With work.  He works so very hard, and it's such a great quality to have.  But at the same time, I wish him to be home.  Soon.  It's only for a time... RIGHT?!
There is a reason my turnaround time is so long.  There is a reason I keep very strict business hours.  Because I know my husband will need to work late sometimes... or a lot of the time.  I can't just work all the time and have them care for themselves. That would not be fair, they need mom.  So, I am here.  When they need me, or when they don't.  I'm watching.  Because one day... they'll be all grown up, and as a mother, there's nothing worse than missing something.  Every milestone is cherished, remembered, never ever forgotten.
I want my kids to learn a good work ethic from their dad.  Because I don't think there's a better example of that.  My dad would also be a good example of that as well.
I want my kids to learn balance from me.  I don't mean balancing and juggling life and all it's insane activities.  I mean balance as in... there is no harm in walking away for a bit.  For example.  I have set business hours for myself.  And I stop when the time has come.  It will all be there for me tomorrow.

It seems a child's life is fleeting.  Gone in a blink.  And I don't want to miss it for the world.  I look forward to the people they will become, the lives they will lead, the people they will love.  So much ahead, but still so much right here right now.

I know... totally a random post.  Just lots of things on my heart right now.   And the above is just a fraction.  But, I am nodding off as I type this.  Best be going now.  :)  I will be back with a giveaway later in the day.

Rap Stars

I have had a pretty crappy day.  Ending with my daycare woman telling me that Zoe is no longer allowed to come back because she's mad at me and thinks I lied and screwed her over, because Mike and I made the decision to take her out of daycare and put her in preschool starting next week.  Sigh.  Which in turn leaves me with 2 FULL days I need to work, but now can not.  Needless to say, I was extremely saddened, hurt, stressed and ticked off after this conversation with this woman.  While crying and drowning my sorrow in a little tub of Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, my friend Denise came to my rescue.  :)  Did you know that she and I are rappers?  Well, it's true.

Denise was talking about her memory and being old.  Which she isn't.  haha!  That is how our little rap got started.  OK... So, our Twitter rap went a little something like this - Break it down!  :)

sheyb

Hilarity, I tell you!  Denise was successful in making me laugh  Not just laugh, but laugh so hard my stomach hurt, and my eyes watered.  The stress of 2 full days of not being able to work was momentarily forgotten and she was there to comfort me - through rapping.  Who said rap was a bad thing?  Well, not according to my fell rapper, PDM [polka dot moon/Denise] or myself, Shey to the B.  So yo!  Next time your friends are down, turn their frown upside down with a little rap. ;)

Peace!

P.S.  Scroll down.  I have a favor in the post below.  :)

Also coming soon will be laptop sleeves, and iPhone/iTouch sleeves.  As well as point and shoot pouches too.  All in due time, peeps.

I was also asked to speak at a local conference about using social media to build your business.  That is on April 24th.  I am so nervous!!!!
