New Moon, Some Wedding Pics, and more!

Hey everyone!
Hope you are having a swell day thus far.

I am.
But I am super tired!
I went with some NEW awesome
friends last night [this morning] to see the 12:20am
premiere of New Moon.

Lots of people have commented that they want
me to write a review right away about the
movie... so, here I am.  Just for you.

But first...
Thanks so much for
all the nice comments about
my latest camera strap slipcover!!
You all are so nice!  I love you!  :)

So... here is another - NEW camera strap slipcover design...
The Ruffle Trio!  What do you think?

Photobucket

Adding ruffles has made these even more unique!
It's amazing what a little more girlie adds.  ;)

Edited to add:  If you need your camera strap slipcover by Christmas,
ALL orders Must be placed no later than Dec. 12th!

****

I can be a total editing slacker.
I mean.  Do you know how many pictures I took
at my brother's wedding?  About 1,000.
Oye that's a lot!

Anyway... here are more!

This is my brother and my mom.
They are totally the same when it comes
to being totally crazy goof offs.
They will make you laugh your butt off.
Seriously.  Funny.
But.  You'd never know it from this picture...

Photobucket

You'll just have to trust me.  :)

And here is my brother, my mom and my dad...

Photobucket

My dad is so handsome.
Don't you think so?
Love you dad!!

And, here are the rings.  I could decide which one I liked best...

Photobucket

Photobucket

I still have about 450 to edit.
Now my head is starting to hurt thinking about it.
I just have so much to do!

Oh, and here are these again.
Of my girls.
Because I LOVE these pictures...

Photobucket

Photobucket

I know, I'm a freak.
Moving on.
;)

Ok, sorry.  If you've made it this far, Congratulations!
I tend to get off track very easily.
Sometimes I just have so much to say.
Well... so much I think I need to say... see here I go getting off track AGAIN!

OK!  New Moon!

Photobucket

So, I went with some new friends!  I had never
met these friends before last night!
I knew them on Twitter and from talking on the phone.
It was so fantastic to meet them in person.

Denise... she is awesome. In fact, she makes fantastic beaded
jewelry!  I just bought some for someone...
And I was so excited to open the package and see
them for myself!  GORGEOUS!
Can't wait to give them to that someone.  ;)
Check out Denise's shop here.

Then I met Julie.  She is awesome too.
So much fun!!  She kept me laughing.

Thanks ladies for going!
You made it even more fun!

Let's talk New Moon...
No spoilers.  Promise.

I will say this...
I REALLY REALLY liked it!
And, that's saying a lot, since I REALLY REALLY
didn't like Twilight the movie.

But I liked New Moon the movie so much...
in fact for the first time EVER... I like a movie
more than I liked the book!
Crazy, I know.

Also... I truly felt sorry for Jacob.
That never happened before.
I got teared up in several parts where Jacob
was involved.  He's just so cute and loveable
in the movie.  Whereas in the book, he was incredibly
annoying.

Big BIG thing... Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
were SO much better at acting in this movie!
There were a couple parts where it was cheesy...
but it was nothing like Twilight.

Oh, and the wolves!  THE WOLVES!
They added an incredible goodness to this movie.

Photobucket

New Moon was so much better than Twilight
that I would actually go see it in the theatre again!

Edited to add... THE ENDING ROCKED!

Go see it.
Come back here... tell me what
you thought!

Also... go HERE to enter to win another
camera strap slipcover...
you might flip at which one
I am giving away.  :)

Twilight The Movie

Mike and I went out for our Anniversary tonight. It was so nice to be alone just the 2 of us!! :)

I was super excited to see the movie Twilight!! Some of you are wanting me to do a review... OK. So here goes...

The book was better. I expected that. :) It was a good movie. But it could have been better. I am not going to say too much... I think those of you that read the book should go see it, and then come back and talk to me.

I did like it, though... and Robert Pattinson played a fantastic Edward Cullen!! Mike is now "Team Alice". ha ha!!!

Forget stupid critic websites.... I never listen to those, because half the time I have the opposite thoughts that they do. GO SEE THE MOVIE... then come back and tell me what you thought... or if you saw the movie, leave me a comment with your thoughts.

It's 1:30am! TIME FOR BED!

Night!!!!

Shealynn

Time & Magazines

Have you gotten that feeling that Christmas is coming... and coming F.A.S.T.? I mean really fast? After discussing Christmas with Mike the other day, and then all but demanding that he get a label prepared to send to my mom so she could ship our Christmas tree here... I realized something. In a [little] more that 2 weeks - Christmas decorations will be going up! I am getting that feeling... which in turn makes me feel freaked out and rushed! I have many many projects I want to do, and suddenly, as I sit here this morning in bed, I wonder if I will have time to get them all done. I really wish that I could tell you about my biggest project, but I just can't. You understand I'm sure... you know with certain people that read my blog and all. ;)

And, yes, I did say "as I sit here in bed this morning". That is exactly what I am doing, and it is nice. Mike takes Angelina to school usually, and Zoe is currently still blissfully sleeping, and I am typing to you - from my bed. ha ha. One of the many perks of having children 4.5 years apart! You writing these benefits down, Katchen? ;) ha ha. Since you are the only friend of mine that will soon know what I am talking about.

I haven't been sucker punched with orders this week, so I have had some time to get orders done and sent. Along with some time for myself, which included a few magazines, and a knitting book. Suzanne... I got the book "Stitch 'N Bitch" yesterday. This book was recommended to me while at knitting class too! So I got it. ;) Read through it a bit last night. Looks interesting.

So, yesterday I went to the mall, because a few days ago I read that some actors from the up and coming Twilight movie were going to be at Hot Topic... ha! Like the idiot I am, I went not really sure what to expect... but what I should have expected is what I actually saw. Hundreds of teenagers, and moms alike waiting in line with tickets that they had gotten at 3am that morning!! So, needless to say, tickets were sold out. ahhh, well. I didn't even stay to get a glimpse... at least it was only the actors/actress that have a small role. We can't all get lucky and get the big shots... ahem - Suz. ha ha. So, instead, I went to Borders. And along with my knitting book [mentioned above], I got these:

Yes, I know some of you have a distaste for Twilight, or don't even know what Twilight is. But, I LOVED these books [incase you didn't know- I read each one 5 times]. So, I am sharing these... Skip down if you don't care. ;) LOL. The current issue of Entertainment Weekly - Twilight on cover. :D And, the Twilight Complete Illustrated Movie Companion. :D The movie comes out 1 week from tomorrow! Yipee!!!

I have also been reading through a few other magazines.

LOTS of great ideas in this magazine!!! But, did you ever doubt Martha Stewart? She always has the most amazing ideas... except when it comes to the stock market. ;)

Photobucket

I SO want to make the quilt on the front of this magazine!!! It doesn't look complicated, either! Maybe that will be next! ;)

Photobucket

And, the other day, Mike was going to the grocery store, and I added "Entertainment Weekly" to the list of things to get. Well, they didn't have the correct ET, because I wanted the current issue... so, because he knows me SO well, he comes home with this instead:

Photobucket

The whole thing is about Twilight the movie, and it's got behind the scenes stuff in it, and other stuff. Ahhh, yes. Nothing like mindless reading! ;)

So, other than finishing up a few orders, reading magazines, knitting, spending time with family, thinking a lot about Christmas, and an attempt to see actors like the crazed Twilight fan I am... nothing much going on here. ;) ha ha!!!!

I have made a few new camera strap slip covers!! They are all in my shop.

Speaking of!! Orders for Christmas MUST be in NO later than December 15th to ensure on time delivery! That is 1 month to get your orders in everyone!! Ordering now might be your best bet... since I am just telling you, and there are some strap covers that are *Limited Edition*. Wouldn't want to miss getting one! ;) So, go now, and order before it's too late!! They do make great gifts for any photographer!!

Leave me a comment.... what kinds of things are you making for Christmas? Anything?

XOXO,

Shealynn

P.S. Did I mention Christmas is coming FAST?! I am about to do the happy dance... or maybe I will just jump on my bed... since I am already in it. ;)

Sew Busy! ;)

Hello.

It's been a busy week around these parts! I have been inundated with orders this week [eleven to be exact], so I haven't had much time for blogging or whatever else I would like to be doing. Like reading Breaking Dawn for the 5th time, or sitting and staring at the TV.

Sidetrack my original thought for one moment... because Breaking Dawn reminded me...

2 weeks from tonight, Mike and I will be sitting and watching this movie in the theatre!! Ummmm... I simply can not wait! I have never looked forward to seeing a movie this much. ;)

You know what's in less than 2 weeks? Me & Mike's 7th Wedding Anniversary!! Wow. SEVEN YEARS! Awesome.

Ok, back on track. Sorry about that...

I have been sitting at my sewing machine all week on and off. Off when I break a needle, rip too many seams, need to clean the house or make dinner or whatever else that needs to be done to distract me when I am frustrated with breaking needles or ripping too many seams. ;) Yesterday afternoon I decided that I had put off making Zoe's skirt for too long, so I tackled that... only to be a few stitches away from finishing when my sewing machine needle broke!!! I was so frustrated that I simply had to walk away... not without calling my machine a name first, though! ha ha!

Here is Zoe's NEW skirt! It is SO not perfect, but she loves it, and she looks cute in it. ;) Although... I swear if I dressed her in a trash bag she would still look adorable.

Cute, huh?

After that, I sewed up an order, and then decided to make a couple new strap slip covers!! See below:

This one is 2 sided:

This one is not:

Not sure what to call them yet... but it will come to me when I list them in my shop in a FEW MINUTES! ;)

So, at the end of today, this was my sewing area...

Could have been messier, I guess. :)

The girls and I picked Mike up from work, and then we went to drop Angelina off at gymnastics. While she was at gym, Mike, Zoe & I went to Target to get a few things -- we ended up getting the girls their Christmas dresses. And boy are they Cuuuute! Pictures to come when I do the Christmas card shoot. :) I feel on the ball this year! Getting things done early... I love that - considering that most years I am scrambling to get things done. Speaking of which. I will be ordering my Christmas cards from Shutterfly this year. For the past 3-4 years I have told Mike that I am going to order my cards from Shutterfly, but end up getting them from Target or making them myself. NOT this year! I am doing it easy. Shutterfly allows you to pick your template, upload your picture, and they will even send them to each individual person for you if you want! How could you possibly go wrong with that?! Well, I can't, so I WILL do this this year.

Anyway, so after Target, Mike & Zoe accompanied me to Joann's Fabrics. Man do I love my husband!! He walked around with me for about an hour, and helped me pick out fabric! Giving me his opinion on masculine camera strap slip covers, and even some good "chick" ones too. :) Plus I got some seasonal fabric... Christmas & Fall. I have straps in mind for those, but home decor stuff & Christmas presents as well. I am ON THE BALL this year! yes! So, after spending a hefty amount there, we left! Swiftly avoiding any other store on our way home. I also got the new Special Edition Martha Stewart Holiday magazine today! LOTS of good stuff in there. Getting more ideas. :D Is that a good thing or a bad thing? hmmmm. Can't be bad.

Tomorrow, I am off to learn to knit. How exciting. I will learn how to knit socks BEFORE it's too hot. I hope.

I hope to also get my hair cut this weekend too... thinking bangs!

OK! Enough rambling for now. I am going to enjoy my cup of Passion tea, add 2 straps to my Etsy shop and then read my magazine.

XOXO,

Shealynn

Where'd The Weekend Go?

It's Sunday - ALREADY?! Wow. This weekend was a blur! It's still ridiculously HOT here!!!!! While I live in one of the hottest places in the U.S., the fall/winter is *not* supposed to be 93 degrees. I have been having a REALLY hard time with this weather lately. It's been a hard adjustment for me for the past few weeks. Summer isn't an adjustment... it's hot. It's hot everywhere [almost] in the Summer. But, fall to me is not supposed to be this hot. It's so depressing. Halloween is in a few days... you wouldn't know it, though. Anyway... hopefully the weather will cool down soon.

Yesterday I took Angelina & some of her friends [and their parents went too] to see the movie High School Musical 3. Of course, the girls loved it! Angelina even got a bear from Build-A-Bear to go with the theme. :)

This morning we went to Ikea and got some shelves for our living room [pictures to come when decorated], we also got more baskets for our cubby shelving unit, and I got 6 yards of the fabric below to add some finishing touches to Angelina's room -- tub covers, closet curtains, and chair cushion... and whatever else I forgot about that I need it for. 6 yards... that's A LOT of fabric, but I will use every bit of it... hopefully I won't need more!!! ;)

And, here is a random picture of "our" stray cat, Slinky. We take care of her... other neighbors give her attention, but we feed her, and give her water. This is totally random, but she was willing to be photographed today, so I thought she could make her blog debut.

We were going to go to the fair today, but we decided to just go next weekend... that way Mike can get some much needed things done around our house. How was your weekend? Do anything exciting?

XOXO,

Shealynn
