Inspire Me! :)

Hey all! Well... I am in need of a little help. Not sure if help is the right word... inspiration maybe?

I am currently moving my sewing studio/sweat shop into our garage. [yes! I am definitely getting an A/C for in there... a must when living in Arizona] - anyway. This doesn't mean that I am going to deck out the garage to the coolest place on earth... though I have thought about it. ;) But we are living here temporarily, so I am thinking more in the future. I would love to have you share some inspiration with me! Can you all send me some pictures of things you've seen that pertain to someone's creative studio? I would love to see anything you got, so please link me! :D Something along these lines...

You Must...

OK, so... aside from being insanely busy sewing, I have also been reading! I have read 6 books in the last week and a half!! :D Yes... I am a PROUD bookworm. This has only been recently since my friend Jenn is also a self proclaimed proud bookworm as well. She turned me onto reading more. Which I can't figure out why I waited so long? And, let's face it... the excuse of not having time... nope. I don't use that excuse. I look forward to curling up on the couch, and getting lost in another world. I find it rather fantastic to visualize what the characters look like, and what the world around them looks like. When I want to relax, I grab a book and get lost.

These books are 100% recommended by me. In other words... drop what you are doing right now, and go to Borders or Barnes and Noble to get them. Yes. They are THAT good.

First up... a series. Which, I must say I loved MORE than Twilight!

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
"City of Bones"
"City of Ashes"
"City of Glass" [this one was JUST released on Tuesday of this week- I finished it today]

They are SOOOOO good!!!! Ahhh! I broke my rule and bought the 3rd book. I don't own the first 2. I borrowed them from Jenn, but I will be buying the first 2 eventually. I would definitely read them again. They were just. that. good.


A series by Lisa McCann
"Wake"
"Fade"

These books are great too! They are only a couple hundred pages, so they are quick reads, but quite good!!! I thoroughly enjoyed them. The 3rd book will be out next year.

And last... A new series by Robin Wasserman
"Skinned"

This book is not about skinning animals or people or anything, so don't get the wrong idea. LOL! I did link it to Amazon [as I did with the others] so you can read what it's about. This one actually fasinated me. The 2nd book in the series, Crashed, is due to come out this September.


I am going to go now, and read another... Evernight. I will let you know in a couple weeks how it was along with the others I will likely read. I think I will do a book recommedation post every couple of weeks so you all can get it on some good reading action as well. :) Now... stop making excuses, and GO GET THESE AND READ!!!

Ooops!

The pictures in my last post got all screwed up! I just fixed it, so look at it now. ;)

Lots Going On!!

I know! I have been away! I am SOOOOOOOO busy!!!! So, I just thought that I would drop in for a bit. :) Lots of updates...

Zoe is now in a toddler bed...







She is doing FANTASTIC!! The transition went very smoothly, and she actually stays in it. :) The day Mike put it together she kept running in her room and laying on it. Then yelling, "I'm going to bed, K?" It was so hilarious! She is also now wearing pull-ups. I figured why not do it all at once? :) She hasn't gone in the potty yet, but I am not forcing it. She will go when she is ready. That is what Angelina did. I don't believe forcing them to use the potty is the answer.

Sunday I finally appliqued a shirt for Zoe. I have been meaning to do this for a long time now. I just did I simple heart, but it's really cute...





She loves it. She was pointing at it every couple of minutes saying, "heart!!"

Zoe has had this obsession lately with stickers. And not just sticking them on paper, but sticking them on daddy...



She is a crack up!

Today, Zoe started preschool/daycare. She is going 2 times a week, which is so nice for me. I am buried up to my eyeballs with orders, so this helps me out a lot! I dropped her off this morning, and stayed with her for a bit. She would play, and then run to me, arms up wanting to hold her and tell her it was OK. Then she would get down and run and play... and run back to me. ha ha! I stayed for 30 minutes so she could get adjusted, and then I left. The woman watching her/the teacher called me and assured me that she was doing just fine, and didn't cry one tear when I left. I was comforted by this. This will help her grow a little independent of me, which I think she needs. Not to mention, this will give me a chance to get a lot done. :D



I promised to show the fabric that I purchased... so, here it is... the top 3 are new.



New minky!! It's curly minky. I love it!! Super soft and fluffy. :)

And... I went. Yes... I went to the midnight Twilight DVD release at Borders last Friday...



Got lots of goodies. ;)


The front seat of my car looked like this last night... 30 packages off to their homes! Woo!




Well... I need to work on filling up my front seat with orders again. :)

Let The Sweat Shop Begin

I can't stay long. Just wanted to share some photos from the Renaissance Fair as I promised. :) But, first... is there anything HOTTER than a man sewing?



Sorry... I find it to be a turn on. ;) My husband was helping me sew last night. And, I hired a friend of mine as well. I need all the help I can get these days! :)

This morning it was like Christmas!! This was waiting for me...



25 yards of fabric! And some 4 more yards are still coming!! Crazy! There will 3 new fabrics and 2 new minky's heading to my shop soon!! Stay on the look out. ;)

And, as soon as Etsy decides to work for me, this camera strap slipcover will be listed...

We had a great time!! Ate a turkey leg, roasted corn, almonds, and some milkshakes. mmmm! We saw some really cool stuff. Unfortunately we didn't see the joust! I wanted to see it SO bad, but Zoe wouldn't have lasted that long. Maybe next time!

Good day! :) How about another giveaway? I knew you wouldn't mind. ;) I promise to post the pictures from the Renaissance Fair tomorrow!! My youngest has the 24 hour flu yesterday, so I got nothing done. Home Sweet Home

I am so incredibly busy right now, but wanted to stop and share just a couple shots from our trip to North Carolina. Nothing crazy. I haven't edited all of the images. There aren't many. But there are some other cute ones of my girls! :D

My little love has learned how to blow dry her own hair. Grandma taught her. :)
